Chamomile Homeschool Clas 9/12/24 1:00pm
In this class we will explore the herb Chamomile. Our sensory approach to herbalism allows students to experience herbs, and not just hear about them. Chamomile is often called the “child’s herb” and as you will learn in this class, it is NOT because it is weak in any way. This herb packs a punch, and it would be beneficial for it to be available in every household and garden as it is so tolerated and helpful for all ages! This class will include optional Chamomile tea tasting along with a hands-on project.
Each student will have the opportunity to fill out an age-appropriate herbal monograph that they can compile to create a start to their own herbal resource, called a Materia Medica used by professional herbalist. *Please be aware, Chamomile is in the same family as ragweed, so this allergy should be considered before using or ingesting Chamomile. Other herbal precautions are discussed in our classes. We choose child friendly herbs when determining our class line up. Class order or herb is determined by availability of herbs in our gardens and/or from our trusted sources and are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Register for any or all classes for our fall semester! Interest has been high, register early to secure your child’s spot. You may register multiple children on one registration form and at one check out, but you will have to fill out a short registration form for each of the individual class dates.
